One year as Leslie Knope.

“Who knows if I never showed up what could’ve been.”✨

It has officially been one year since I was appointed to City Council in Corry.

Saying yes to this one opportunity has opened so many doors, allowed me to meet so many people, and has taught me more than I could summarize for one post.

While I’ve been called Leslie Knope more times than I can count over the last year, parks and properties has been the perfect place for me to get started in a political career I do not see ending anytime soon.

I love our parks, basically live on our trail, and have so many ideas for all of our spaces in between. The places that encourage meeting your neighbors and being involved. That give space to celebrate and gather. The pieces of our town that truly build community.

Community.

The people we serve.
The vision we’re working towards.
The part that matters the most in all of this.

Whether it’s painting the tennis courts on a blazing hot Saturday morning, literally trailblazing by mapping out new areas to create trails with fellow leaders, or yes, even listening to hours worth of concerns from residents and community members; serving this community has proven to be such an enriching experience.

As many of you know when I first moved to Corry, I didn’t plan to stay very long. Serving on City Council definitely makes me glad I did.🧡
